June 2024

In June this year, I went to the Kube Residency in rural northeastern Germany. The place was amazing, full of nature and birdsong, with a magical forest, open fields, and fresh air. Mika and Sharon created a wonderful, inspiring space that felt welcoming and free for creativity.
Every day, I woke up early and took a walk in the beautiful forest nearby, which gave me lots of inspiration for my work in the studio. The shared studio and print workshop were well-equipped, offering lots of opportunities for exploration and experimentation. Sharon kindly taught me new printing techniques, and the studio and workshop were available to me all day, every day.
The peaceful environment, distance from the city, quiet, calm, and closeness to nature allowed me to fully dive into the creative process. I created three series of prints using various techniques, directly influenced by the nature and surroundings of the residency.
